Sonny Garish

Solid album, excellant playing, nice production.
Melody For Danette is the stand out track for me, super dopeness right here!

Curly Chalker

Two ridiculous covers from Curly Chalker, why the 3D effect on the title?!
I presume these are at either ends of his career.
Big Hits On Big Steel is standard fare but has songs i hadnt heard before, Counterpoint features much more modern playing but the song choice! Bridge Over Troubled Water, Cant Buy Me Love, The Look Of Love, Danny Boy, come on! Do we need more versions of these songs?!
When he leaves the pop tunes alone though Counterpoint is solid, and his playing is fine.

Freddie Roulette

Dope albums right here. Freddie Roulette has a sweet sound and quite an original style. Supposedly, his tunings only good for certain keys and it can tend to sound a bit similar in places, he also needs to be turned the fuck up! Why so low in the mix?!

Lloyd Green

Lloyd Green albums vary in quality. Big Steel Guitar i think is the earliest recording and is pretty much standard for a steel guitar album but does have dope production and of course fine playing.
On later albums he does a few pop tunes, Killing Me Softly is nice but has awful 70's backing vocals way too high in the mix! Backing vocals on an instrumental?! Dont know what he was thinking releasing Shades Of Steel, maybe he was trying to widen his market.
He really showcases his chops on the Charley Pride album, one of the best live steel guitar albums ive heard, just fantastic. Great version of 6 Days On The Road and Leaving On Her Mind. Truely one of the great steel guitar albums.

Herb Reminton

I used to listen to these two early Reminton albums constantly when i first got them, smoothest playing ive ever heard, fantastic phrasing and vintage production. Probally THE best albums to cop licks from and has many original song forms all easy to find on a C6 neck. Unfortunatley, i only have half of the yellow album, if you have the rest of the tracks please let me know. Cant say enough good things about these, even the covers are dope.
